‘Build brands, lift national image’

REF:  Bangladesh can ‘best use’ its relations with Korea to diversify its exports and grow, the South Korean ambassador in Dhaka has said.

“Five decades ago Korea was poorer than Bangladesh,” said South Korea’s Dhaka envoy Lee Yun-Young in an interview to bdnews24.com.

Under fire, BCL expels 2 RU leaders

REF:  Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has expelled two of its leaders at the Rajshahi University (RU) unit a day after armed attack on the students of the university.

The central committee of the Awami League’s student front on Monday night said the unit’s Joint General Secretary Nasim Ahmed Setu and Organising Secretary Shamsuzzaman Emon have been rusticated following a decision.

Eleven die in boat fire

REF:  Rescuers have so far fished out 11 bodies from the Surma river in Sunamganj after a boat caught fire and sank on Monday night.

The police and fire service divers along with locals resumed rescue efforts on Tuesday morning after the fog cleared , Sunamgnaj’s Superintendent of Police (SP) Harunur Rashid said.
