Ref: Some crude bombs exploded near BNP Naya Paltan headquarters and Shantinagar in Dhaka on the second day of the Opposition strike on Thursday. A 14-year-old schoolgirl was injured when Jamaat-e-Islami supporters lobed bombs in Chittagong as the strike entered the second day.Three crude bombs were lobbed from a pro-shutdown procession in Battala alley near Nightingle intersection in Dhaka around 8:00am, Paltan Police Station Officer in-Charge Golam Sarwar said.

Ref: The Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday called a nationwide dawn-to-dusk general strike for today.
Acting Jamaat secretary general Rafiqul Islam Khan called the general strike issuing a statement immediately after the International Crimes Tribunal-1 announced that it would pronounce today the verdict in a case against the detained Jamaat leader Delwar Hossain Sayedee on charge of crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 war of independence.
