Two persons were killed and another one injured in a road accident at Godagari upazila of the district on Thursday evening.
The deceased were identified as Sohel Rana, 30, son of Ataullah and Jalal Uddin, 40, son of Roich Uddin of the upazila.
Witness and police said a rashly driven bus crushed into a motorbike when it was overtaking another bus on Kashimala road in the area, leaving two dead on the spot and one other injured.
Sub-Inspector of Godagari Thana Gias Uddin confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Islami Chhatra Shibir activists hurled locally-made bombs on a police car on Wednesday at the start of the half-day strike in Rajshahi.
At least seven persons, including three policemen, were injured in explosions and attacks.
The strike has been called to protest the arrest of Jamaat-e-Islami Central Publicity Secretary Tasim Alam.
Jamaat supporters hurled bombs on the police car near Rajshahi University gate in Kajla area. The injured were locally hospitalised.

A procession in support of hartal was brought out led by CPB presidium member Ahsan Habib Lovelu and workers’ leader Mantu Ghos from CPB Purana Paltan central office around 5:45am, banglanews correspondent reports.
Another pro-hartal procession was brought out by Bangladesh Chhatra Union from its Topkhana road central office around 6:00am and they paraded press club, Paltan, Segunbagicha areas, a spot account said.
BSD led-by its general secretary comrade Khalekuzzaman brought out a procession which paraded also Paltan, Dainik Bangla, Press Club areas.
All procession terminated in city’s Paltan intersection and leaders are addressing here in support of hartal.
