Ref: Syed Ashraful Islam, minister for local government and rural development, informed parliament that it would be possible to implement e-governance in the country within a few years for bringing dynamism in the public administration.
Ashraful, who is also the designated spokesperson for the ministry of public administration, said this while answering to a question raised by Moshtaq Ahmed Ruhi MP in the question-answer session of the parliament Tuesday.
Ashraful said the government has decided to implement e-governance scheme to accelerate public administration. “If the steps taken by the government go as usual, it will be possible to implement it in full fledge,” he hoped.
Abdullah Al Kaiser MP asked the minister whether the government is going to form political bureaucracy in line with the United States.
Ashraf said the government doesn’t have any plan to implement political bureaucracy based on the experience of another country as, at present, the public-administration system is effective in the country.
In answer to another question made by lawmaker Zainal Abdin, he said, “Public administration officials are made OSD for public interest. As, it is an ongoing process, so the list is not preserved.”
