Ref:Islami Chhatra Shibir president Rezaul Karim has threatened to put prime minister Sheikh Hasina and home minister Shahara Khatun on trial at a special tribunal.
“Massacres like Peelkhana killings and Paltan killings are still pending the prime minister’s nod,” president of Jamaat-e-Islami’s student wing, Karim said.
He, however, managed to escape from the police on a motorcycle when they gave chase after his speech at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Thursday.
The discussion was organised by Jamaat’s Dhaka metropolitan unit to mark the deaths at Paltan on Oct 28, 2006, the last date of the BNP led government’s tenure.
BNP and Jamaat claim that Awami League activists killed at least 13 supporters of the four-party alliance that day.
Addressing the prime minister, he threatened, “You have committed the most heinous crime against humanity.”
