Ref: The Secondary School Certificate exams will begin on Feb 1 next year, and will not be delayed for the upcoming Cricket World Cup, scheduled from Feb 19, the education minister says.
Nurul Islam Nahid made the announcement and the routine at a press briefing on Tuesday at his office.Schedules for the Dakhil and SSC (vocational) examinations were also disclosed at the conference.
All the examinations will commence from Feb 1.
The SSC exams, held under eight general education boards, will conclude on Mar 10. Practical tests will be held thereafter.
No exams, however, were fixed on the day and the day after the matches that will be held in Bangladesh.
Nahid said this schedule will on the one hand not deprive the students from enjoying the World Cup, and on the other uphold the government’s efforts to minimise session jam.
Bangladesh, alongside India and Sri Lanka, will host the biggest cricket tournament around the globe.
