Ref: Four passengers of a Dhaka-bound commuter train from Brahmanbaria were killed and another injured in a robber attack in Bhadugarh Kurulia rail bridge area early Thursday.
Of the deceased, one was identified as Sudu Mia, 50, of Bijoynagar upazila of the district while the identity of others could not be known yet.
Akhaura railway police station OC Abul Kalam Azad said, “A gong seven to eight robbers intercepted a train around 5:00am in Bhadugarh Kurulia rail bridge area and stabbed five passengers indiscriminately and threw them from train, leaving two dead on the spot and there others injured critically.
The robbers got down from the train at the place.
On information from passengers, police rushed in and sent the dead and injured to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital. Latter, two others died on the way to hospital.
The bodies of four passengers were kept at hospital morgue for autopsy.
Besides, injured Rubel, 35, has been kept at Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
